Behance: Make ideas happen

Scott Belsky has recently very kindly drawn my attention to Behance, an exciting new online magazine featuring some of the most brilliantly productive creative professionals. As a great fan of The West Wing, I must say that I was especially interested in the article on Eli Attie: Writing The West Wing. It gives fascinating insights into Attie’s craft as supervising producer and writer for the series and

“his productivity as a writer, how ideas take a life of their own, and what guiding principles help him capture the ideas”.

The overall objective of the Behance team is ambitious, as it wants to work towards boosting productivity in the creative community. As Scott Belsky puts it

“We believe that the world becomes a more interesting place when creative individuals/organizations are able to make their ideas happen.”

To that aim, Behance has developed the Action Method,

“a simple and intuitive method to manage creative projects and everyday life”

A very cool line of stationary products based on the method are also available from the site, since Behance is also interested in “outfitting the creative community to make ideas happen”. This include not only an Action Pad and an Action Book, but also Action Cards and Action Stickers, designed to help “imagine productive brainstorms and efficient meetings”. Worthy of special note is the Action Pad Mini, which presented as “the ultimate on-the-go action management list”, was designed as a companion product for Moleskine or similar sketchbooks, and helps you keeping focused on action steps.

Thanks for noting this Pascal. I wouldn’t have seen it otherwise. Very helpful.

Agreeing with Michael Sampson.
The Behance site has some good info … I’ve bookmarked for periodic checking. Looks like some cool products, too.
